Montgomery Township is putting a celebratory twist on a national tradition this August by fusing its annual National Night Out with the township’s “Firework Fun & Friday Night Bites” event, promising residents an unforgettable evening of food, fireworks, and community connection.
Set for Friday, Aug. 8, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the event at the Montgomery Township Community & Recreation Center will include everything from bounce houses and rock climbing walls to police K-9 demos, live music, and a fireworks finale.
The township hopes this extra-special version of National Night Out will build bonds between neighbors and local law enforcement — all while making up for the rained-out "Stars, Stripes & Remembrance" event from earlier this year.
"This year only, we’ve expanded the evening with additional activities, food, and fireworks to create a unique experience for residents," Montgomery Police said in a statement.
Both the township and the police department await a one-time mashup that they think residents are going to love, celebrating police and community while delivering the energy of a Friday night block party.
