The Avenue Salon celebrated its grand opening Tuesday, July 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Nestled in the heart of downtown Souderton at 100 N. Main Street, the woman-owned business promises a luxury salon experience without the city commute, blending high-end techniques and personalized care.
The salon specializes in haircuts and styling, dimensional color and highlights, luxury hair/scalp treatments, bridal and event styling, personalized consultations and permanent makeup. Other services include a shampoo bowl, hot towel treatments, head massages and aromatherapy.
“We offer an elevated experience in a spa-like atmosphere,” said owner Sophia Landis. “We go above and beyond.”
The salon boasts a full consultation for new clients. Clients can additionally submit photos of their desired hairstyles prior to their appointments.
“It’s so we know what they want and they can feel taken care of, and we love that,” said owner Suzanne Landis, a veteran stylist. “We’ve had good feedback from that.”
Suzanne and Sophia Landis, mother and daughter and Souderton Area High School graduates, expressed a passion for hairstyling since childhood and long dreamed of opening a salon together.
“It was always our dream,” said Sophia. “I remember being 12 saying, ‘What should we name our salon?’”
Since its official opening July 11, the salon has been quickly building its client list. Suzanne primarily does hairstyling, while Sophia, an esthetician, tackles the spa treatments and bookkeeping. They employ a small team of stylists up to date on the latest trends, products and techniques, says the salon’s website.
While offering luxury, high-quality services, the mother and daughter pair hope to provide an intimate, family-friendly space for their clients.
“We want to create an environment in Souderton that feels trendy and looks luxurious but also has that family-friend aspect,” said Sophia. “Especially since it’s owned by a mother and daughter. We’re close-knit, so we want to be close-knit with our clients too.”
Moving forward, the Landises hope to become a fixture in the community and eventually open some additional locations.
“We’re gonna rock here, and maybe open a few smaller, intimate salons,” said Suzanne Landis.
“We ultimately want to be a reputable salon that everyone knows and goes to in Souderton,” said Sophia Landis.
The Avenue Salon is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturdays on 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information, visit theavesalon.com
