New hire Kyle Fizel joins three others hired in January
The Upper Gwynedd Police Department’s class of 2025 has gained another member.
Township officials greeted new officer Kyle Fizel on Monday night, as the officer received his oath and his badge for the first time.
“We are so excited to swear in a new police officer today,” said commissioner Denise Hull.
Back in January the department gave their annual report to the board and public, and at that time swore in three new hires and said a conditional offer of employment had been given to another candidate; those three new hires brought the department up to 23 total officers, two below their authorized strength of 25.
The latest addition is Fizel , a graduate of Council Rock High School South, who then attended Bucks County Community College where he studied criminal justice, before working for several years in the transportation industry, Hull said in introducing the officer. After deciding to re-enter law enforcement, Fizel attended the Montgomery County Community College police academy, from which he graduated in June.
“Kyle will be assigned to the patrol division — congratulations, and welcome,” Hull said, prompting a round of applause and handshakes for the new officer. In a post on their Facebook page, the department also welcomed their new addition: “If you see him out and about don’t hesitate to say hi and welcome him to the Upper Gwynedd community as he continues his field training,” the department said.
