Reagan Sahadi, would tell you from an early age growing up in South Texas, just over the border with Mexico, he witnessed grit, resiliency, and community support surrounding him. As a 5th generation South Texas-raised citizen, alongside his upbringing, his parents showed him the importance of making an impact through meaningful work. These values characterised him while pursuing a business administration degree at St. Edward's University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2001. It was not business however, that would shape his career, it was Justice.
Reagan continued his education at the University of Houston Law Center, earning his law degree in 2005. Like many attorneys, he started in insurance defense under the guidance of a senior attorney. At the time, it was a sensible and traditional career path to enter when graduating from law school, but one case would change it all, forcing him to change sides, and never from that moment look back at Suleen back.
The case that cemented Sahadi's decision to change sides, was a case involving his uncle. His uncle was golfing in Houston, Texas and literally fell into a concealed sinkhole. Underneath the fairway was an underground irrigation pipe that had broken and caused a sinkhole, unbeknownst to others on the course. It's a terrifying accident for anyone. The insurance advocate refused to take responsibility, so Sahadi took the lead to advocate for his uncle.
That case was a little more than a matter of advocate primarily. Sahadi dedicated all of his time and resources toward advocacy for his uncle for months of work, eventually resolving an enormous settlement. In the end, that case taught Sahadi something far more meaningful that outlined a legal strategy. It taught him that advocacy was meaningful, needed commitment, and legal strategy was secondary. He also learned about the heavy burden of responsibility that comes with representing an individual whose life has been turned upside down. The feeling of gratification he received for helping a family member was something he could not ignore. It ignited something in him, leading him to leave the insurance defense world behind and focus on representing plaintiffs.
Sahadi Legal and Trust
Today, Reagan Sahadi is the founding attorney of Sahadi Legal, a law firm that focuses on wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. The firm has developed a reputation for steady pressure, steady preparation, and steady results. Sahadi’s decision to go out on his own and open up a practice was not without growing pains. He had to carve out space in a crowded legal market that had many experienced lawyers in it. He also knew that doing the right thing by each client was going to be the best way to grow his firm for the long haul. And he was right.
One of the early challenges he had to overcome was visibility. Rather than rely upon shiny marketing strategies or gimmicks, he relied on excellence. His strategy was simple: perform at a high level for each client; and word of mouth will take care of the rest. His belief in producing results and gaining the trust of clients has led him to grow his firm and build a strong reputation throughout Texas and beyond.
Client Advocacy with Focus.
Reagan did not yell or bully anyone in courtrooms or negotiations. He did not see value in that form of advocacy. He believes in calm, focused advocacy to obtain the best results. "I'm not a 'rambo' litigator," Reagan stated. “I am engaged in a task and I complete it with tenacity while being focused and steadying pressure.”
Sahadi’s mindset had paid off big-time. One of Sahadi’s most memorable cases involved a client that lost his leg due to a motorcycle accident that was caused by a commercial truck. The case was not simply about receiving compensation but giving the client and spouse peace of mind, retirement, and the ability to live without financial worry; the emotional toll of that result appealed to Sahadi and further justified why he does what he does.
Sahadi acknowledges that high-stakes litigation is complicated. He has acquired a $124 million judgment in a major case (this was front and centre in the headlines; however Sahadi points out the hustle and effort in the case). “You need to be ambitious and know your case inside and out and the facts as well,” he concluded. You also need to envision what arguments will be forthcoming by the other side.”
Working and Family
Managing a successful practice is demanding and will require long hard hours, coupled with significant responsibilities, but Sahadi has family first. A major resource is his terrific capable paralegal team, many of whom work at close or nearly level of the junior attorneys. Their level of competency has also empowered Sahadi to stay productive while being at home with family
Sahadi has found technology. Sahadi’s decision to work through virtual meetings and computer-based collaboration means that he can forgo unnecessary travel and spend as much time with his wife and children as possible. It is not just about professional achievement for him, but also a joyful life at home.
Giving Voice to the Underdog
If there is a common thread that runs through Sahadi’s work, it is the underdog. He recognizes that the legal system can seem unapproachable to so many people, especially when faced with litigation against a large corporation or powerful insurance company. He feels the most inspired when representing individuals who may not have a voice otherwise.
"When you can beat that and provide somebody with a lot of life changing money, just for being a victim of negligence, there is a euphoria to it that is hard to explain," Sahadi said.
His approach is not about theatrics or false optimism. It is grounded in preparing, working hard, and believing that the truth should have a shot at being considered. He takes the time to find out all the facts, good and bad. Then develops a strategy that is strong, but certainly realistic.
Expanding the Mission Beyond Texas
While it remains Texas-based, Reagan Sahadi’s practice has outreached far beyond South Texas. Sahadi Legal now tackles cases anywhere in the United States. The mission is the same, to provide a high level of client-centric representation to people wherever they live.It is obvious that expansion does not cede quality. Every case still gets the attention it is due. It doesn't matter if the client is in Corpus Christi or hundreds of miles away: you accumulate the facts, work the case, and have fun going to trial or getting the case resolved.
Advice for New Lawyers
In response to the question about what advice he would give to early career attorneys, Sahadi's answer is simple: do the work. Get to know the facts of every case extremely well. Follow your gut instinct. And above all, be honest about how much work can be involved in practicing law.
He encourages attorneys not to shortcut their path, as the only way to actually develop in personal injury law is to do the work and get the results. The biggest and flashiest results might get more media attention, but you can build a career from small, consistent results, while maintaining professionalism.
What to Expect Going Forward
As Sahadi Legal continues to grow with a focus of being led by a commitment to deliver justice and achieve meaningful results, Sahadi is confident that not only can the organization maintain high quality lawyering and damage recovery for people injured through the negligence of others, but also establish a legacy of justice and support for those who need people standing up for them in their moment of suffering.
It won't always be about publicity or gaining personal notoriety, it will always be focused on assisting real people trying to find their way through one of the hardest times of their lives. From his very first case involving his Uncle to managing complex national multi-plaintiff litigation, Reagan Sahadi has enrolled the legacy equivalent to the term he actually represents: doing the work and making a difference to real people.
Never Forget Your Mission
Reagan Sahadi's story is not one of overnight success or flying high on the backs of any one case. It is about long-term commitment, deliberate decisions, and understanding what it means to advocate for others. For people who typically are looking for justice in situations where they are dealing with a significant injury or the wrongful death of a loved one, Sahadi provides much more than legal advice and representation. He provides a real voice and diligent representation. And in personal injury law, this can make a world of difference.
