The recent commendations and awards presented to our officers are a testament to their dedication, bravery, and unwavering commitment to service.
As so many of you know, our Lansdale Police Department has always been a pillar of safety and well-being in our community. The recent commendations and awards presented to our officers are a testament to their dedication, bravery, and unwavering commitment to service. These accolades not only recognize individual acts of heroism but also highlight the collective efforts that contribute to a safer and more cohesive community.
This mission comes to life in the actions of Officer Corey Pfister, whose tenacity in investigating harassment and Protection of Abuse order violations underscores a deep dedication to protecting the most vulnerable. Through collaboration with the Philadelphia Police Department and a relentless pursuit of justice, Officer Pfister’s work not only brought a dangerous individual to accountability but also offered peace of mind to victims. This case exemplifies the department’s commitment to upholding the law while safeguarding dignity and hope.
Similarly, Officer John Ruel’s swift actions on a frigid December night embody the compassion that defines Lansdale policing. Discovering an individual in distress from the extreme cold, Officer Ruel acted decisively, ensuring the person received lifesaving medical care. It’s these moments—seemingly small but profoundly impactful—that remind us of humanity embedded in our police department.
Teamwork and collaboration shine brightly in the Unit Citation for Meritorious Conduct awarded to Sergeant Matthew Erbele and Officers John Ruel, Shannon Hauser, and Karly Harney. Their strategic coordination in apprehending a dangerous individual with multiple warrants demonstrated the power of collective effort. This operation not only ensured public safety but also reinforced a sense of trust and security in the community.
Detective Joel Greco’s meticulous investigation into jewelry thefts at Elm Terrace Gardens reveals another facet of the department’s resolve. Over two years, Greco’s dedication and resourcefulness led to the arrest of a suspect, ending a series of crimes that had unsettled residents. His work underscores the importance of persistence and the value of protecting not just property but also peace of mind.
The Lansdale Police Department’s commitment extends beyond traditional law enforcement. Alexis Moyer, the department’s mental health co-responder, has redefined what it means to serve. By developing a mental health co-responder program, Moyer has built a bridge of understanding and support for those in crisis, ensuring that care, rather than conflict, is the cornerstone of the department’s approach. Her contributions are a testament to the innovative spirit that keeps Lansdale moving forward together.
In moments of crisis, the Lansdale Police Department shines brightest. Officers Hazel Bundy, James Thompson, and others exemplified this during a response to a mental health emergency at the department’s lobby. Their coordinated efforts ensured the safety of all involved, a reflection of their training, empathy, and calm under pressure.
While I am proud of all our work, the department’s ability to adapt and collaborate beyond its borders is a testament to understanding that all our communities are connected to one another. From solving stolen vehicle cases to apprehending armed robbery suspects, these partnerships enhance public safety and foster a sense of shared responsibility among law enforcement.
Clearly, at the core of any department’s success is its people. Officer John Einreinhofer’s recognition as Officer of the Year speaks to the values that define Lansdale policing: dedication, performance, and a positive attitude. Similarly, Dianna King’s exceptional contributions on our support staff ensures the department’s seamless operation and continued excellence.
Each commendation and award is more than a milestone; it’s a building block in the foundation of a thriving community. These stories paint a picture of a police department that is not just enforcing laws but also fostering connections, and ensuring that Lansdale remains a place where families flourish, businesses grow, and neighbors come together.
As our department continues to serve with courage and compassion, it paves the way for a future where Lansdale is not just safer but also continues to be stronger, more united, and full of promise. This is the true spirit of policing; a service that inspires us to imagine, and work toward, a brighter tomorrow.
