A Lansdale man has been accused by Lansdale Police with strangling and threatening to kill a woman on Christmas Eve.

Maynor Ordonez Lopez, 26, of North Richardson Avenue, was arrested and charged Dec. 27 with felony strangulation, misdemeanor terroristic threats and attempted assault, attempted assault by menace, and harassment, according to charging documents.

On Dec. 24 at 10 p.m., the victim arrived home from work, but forgot to lock the second door to the bedroom, police said. Lopez allegedly came up the rear stairs of the residence that led to the bedroom, where he allegedly came in, choked the victim for three minutes, attempted to have intercourse with them in front of an infant, and threatened to kill the victim.

On Dec. 26, the victim reported the incident to police. Investigators documented an impression of three fingers and redness on the victim’s neck, and bruising to the neck, arms and legs, according to the complaint.

Lopez was arrested on Dec. 27 in front of a property on the 300 block of Madison Street in Lansdale, police said.

Lopez remains jailed in Montgomery County Correctional Facility on 10% of $75,000 cash bail, according to court documents. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 22 at 2:30 p.m. before Magisterial District Judge Ed Levine.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
