2-car crash on Friday that injured 3 people remains under investigation, police say

Montgomery Township Police are seeking anyone with video or information related to a Friday morning crash at Horsham and Stump roads that sent three people to Abington Hospital and shut down the roadway for five hours.

Police said Tuesday morning that police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection.

Reconstruction revealed that a black Mercedes-Benz S550 was east on Horsham Road and collided with a maroon Mazda CX-5 that was south on Stump Road, police said.

The driver and two passengers of the Mazda were injured and were taken via VMSC Emergency Medical Services to Abington Hospital for treatment, police said. The driver of the Mercedes refused medical treatment, police said.

Investigators closed Horsham and Stump roads for five hours, reopening at about 4 p.m. Friday.

The collision remains under investigation by Montgomery Township Police Department’s Highway Safety Unit.

Police were assisted at the scene by the Fire Department of Montgomery Township and FDMT Fire Police, Colmar Fire, Hatfield Police Horsham Fire Company Ambulance, and the Community Ambulance Association of Ambler.

Police said, assistance was also provided by fire police from the Wissahickon, North Penn, Fairmount, and Horsham fire departments. Contact the Montgomery Township Police Department’s Highway Safety Unit at 215 362-2301 with any video or details on the crash.
