North Penn High School’s student newspaper, The Knight Crier, has been digitizing old editions of the paper, bringing North Penn history online.
Prior to the 2011-2012 school year, The Knight Crier was produced strictly in print. Since then, with the exception of an annual end-of-year print edition, The Knight Crier is now exclusively digital at www.knightcrier.org.
Nostalgia and history still have their place in The Knight Crier newsroom, housing two large filing cabinets full of Knight Criers dating back to the 1950s.
This year, Constantine Diatlov, NPHS senior and Knight Crier content editor, has taken on the challenge of archiving many of these print edition papers, by decade, and publishing them online.
This archive contains old versions of the paper dating back to the origins of North Penn High School, and even going back to The Huskie Barker from Lansdale High School.
Diatlov has partnered with The Lansdale Historical Society in this endeavor, uncovering more archive worthy material in their collection, as well as utilizing their resources to image these old print editions. The archive offers an extraordinary glimpse into the North Penn of yesteryear, proving that the more things change, the more they stay the same.
Articles will be updated throughout the year, available here.
