According to county dispatch, calls came into the emergency center around 7:21 p.m. for the report of an electrical fire outside on Sunday, Feb. 16. Dispatch noted that a transformer was blown in the 600 block of North Wales Road, in Montgomeryville, causing a nearby tree to set fire. The incident was reported to be near the traffic light at the entrance of Dick's Sporting Goods.

No injuries were reported at this time. Those at the scene said that a tree had fallen on the road, causing the downed lines and blown transformer. Traffic at North Wales Road, near Bethlehem Pike, was slowed as crews worked to make the area safe.
