Local veterans honored in annual ceremony
On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Towamencin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) hosted the Wreaths Across America ceremony at Wentz’s church on Skippack Pike.
They honored veterans from the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Merchant Marines, Coast Guard, Space Force, and POWs.
The event included Lansdale Mayor Garry Herbert, Boy Scouts from Troop 51, the Towamencin Society Children of the American Revolution, reenactors representing previous wars, and a full crowd of community members.
After the ceremony, a wreath was placed at the headstone of a veteran.
The Towamencin DAR chapter promotes Wreaths Across America every year and encourages community members to purchase a wreath to honor a veteran.
