Lansdale Borough will move forward with several infrastructure improvement projects following the approval of $700,000 in Local Share Account (LSA) funding, borough officials announced this week.

The funding, secured with assistance from State Rep. Steve Malagari and Sen. Maria Collett, will support three projects aimed at improving wastewater management, stormwater control, and pedestrian accessibility throughout the borough.

Planned improvements include $250,000 to replace the aging Franklin Street pump station, which handles wastewater from nearby residential areas, a project borough officials said is critical for protecting public health and environmental safety. An additional $250,000 will be used to repair storm sewer tunnels and surrounding sidewalks to address stormwater overflow issues, while $200,000 is allocated for rehabilitating sanitary and stormwater sewer lines in select areas. That work will also include sidewalk restoration and the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps to improve accessibility.

Borough officials expressed gratitude for the state support, noting that partnerships with state legislators continue to play an important role in advancing long-term infrastructure needs. The projects are expected to move forward as part of Lansdale’s ongoing efforts to modernize essential systems and improve safety and accessibility for residents.
