A New Jersey man was sent to state prison for up to three years for burglarizing Skippack Pharmacy earlier this year, meanwhile his alleged accomplice in the burglary awaits a jury trial in January.
Fernando Azcona, 29, of South Brunswick, pleaded guilty last week in Montgomery County Court to felony charges of burglary and drug possession with intent to deliver and was sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Wendy Rothstein to 1 to 3 years, plus three years of probation, according to court records.
Azcona was given credit for 290 days served since his arrest. He was represented by public defender Margeaux Cigainaro.
Azcona's alleged accomplice, Benjamin G. Nadler, 20, of Princeton, NJ, heads to a jury trial on Jan. 8, 2026, according to court records.
Pennsylvania State Police said Azcona and Nadler were found in possession of sealed prescription bottles and medications upon apprehension by troopers in March, police said.
Nadler is charged with felony counts of burglary, possession of a controlled substance, and receiving stolen property, per court documents. He is also facing misdemeanor charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of an instrument of crime, police said. He posted 10% of $25,000 cash bail after his preliminary arraignment.
On Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 2:17 a.m., troopers responded to Skippack Pharmacy at 4118 Skippack Pike for a report of a burglary in progress, police said.
The police barracks are located around the corner from the pharmacy, less than a half mile.
The owner of the pharmacy, Dr. Mayank Amin aka Vaccine Superman Dr. Mak, reported that there were individuals visible on camera inside his business, police said.
Upon arrival, troopers found a car with its lights on in an adjacent parking lot. Troopers blocked the car in and then saw a man approaching the car from the area of the pharmacy, police said.
Contact was made with the man who was detained after making incriminating statements, police said.
While one trooper placed the first man into custody, a second suspect was seen running out of the pharmacy in the direction of Route 113, police said.
Troopers immediately canvassed the area for the second suspect and apprehended him.
Investigators found additional alleged stolen prescriptions and a hammer on the front passenger seat of the suspects’ car.
The car was towed to police headquarters, pending a search warrant, police said. The subsequent search uncovered additional unprescribed medications, police said.
