Sign up today to be a volunteer firefighter or administrative staff at Fairmount Fire Co. of Lansdale
Santa will be trading in his sleigh for a fire truck Saturday afternoon as the Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale brings its annual Santa Run back to neighborhoods across Lansdale Borough.
The longtime holiday tradition gets underway around 4 p.m.. Residents are encouraged to listen for sirens, step outside, and wave as Santa rides along, greeting families and spreading seasonal cheer.
“Fairmount Fire Company and its members are excited to once again escort Santa through the Borough,” the company said in a recent Facebook post. “Keep an eye out as Santa rides with us and waves to all the good boys and girls.” Fire officials said they are hoping to offer live Santa tracking through the Glympse app, so residents can see when the caravan is heading their way.
The Santa Run has become a beloved Lansdale tradition, rooted in the borough’s long history of volunteer fire service. Fairmount traces its origins back to 1889, when local residents organized to improve fire protection in the growing town.
Today, the company remains more than 60 members strong, responding to hundreds of calls each year while maintaining deep community ties.
Fairmount is always looking for volunteer firefighters and administrative staff. Sign up here.
As in years past, the event is also shining a light on the volunteers behind the scenes. Lansdale resident and Fairmount member Christina Ottaviano has once again helped organize donations to cover a pre-run meal for firefighters.
While the meal itself is already funded, additional contributions are welcome to help cover beverages and desserts on Saturday. Donations may be made by check payable to “Fairmount Fire Company” or by cash, which can be dropped off at the mailbox at 218 S. Richardson Ave. or at the firehouse at 100 Vine St.
Organizers say the Santa Run is about more than flashing lights and holiday music. It is a chance for residents to thank the volunteers who answer calls year-round and to celebrate a tradition that brings the borough together.
Fairmount Fire Company thanked the community for its continued support and encouraged residents to come out, wave, and help keep the holiday spirit rolling through Lansdale on Saturday afternoon.
