Donated items will benefit programs at the Veteran’s Multi-Service Center
Area residents looking to help out veterans in need can do so this month at the Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds’ holiday donation drive.
Hosted by Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg, the annual initiative will benefit the Veteran’s Multi-Service Center. Participants can drop off items through the end of the month to the office inside One Montgomery Plaza, 425 Swede St., No. 303, Norristown.
Popular “wish list” items include laundry pods, personal hygiene items, underwear, shirts, hats, gloves and scarves, according to a statement from Sorg’s office, along with nonperishable food items such as low sodium soup, pasta and peanut butter.
“My office has had the honor of serving veterans all year long, and our annual donation drive is just one more way we want to give back to those who gave so much to the country,” Sorg said in a statement. “With prices skyrocketing and SNAP Benefits cut across the country, now more than ever we cannot forget about our veterans who are in need.”
The Philadelphia-based Veteran’s Multi-Service Center assists veterans across the tri-state area, connecting them with benefits, programs, meals, and other services. Those looking to participate can check out the organization’s complete wish list at montgomerycountypa.gov/rod.

The Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Office also helps veterans access military discharge records and ID cards, which can provide discounts at more than 650 local businesses.
