Town fire company hosted visit from Santa on Dec. 7
‘Tis the season in North Wales — as town officials thank the volunteers who made a major winter milestone happen.
“Earlier this week, we had another wonderful tree lighting event. The North Wales Community Project Alliance did an amazing job, like they always do, bringing the community together,” said Mayor Neil McDevitt.
“It’s always fun for me to see all the kids’ faces, when they’re watching myself and Santa coming in. Jennifer Koch (North Wales Area Library director) did a wonderful job reading with me, and I am grateful for that,” he said.
That tree lighting ceremony and Santa visit was hosted by the North Penn Volunteer Fire Company at their Main Street station, the mayor added during the Dec. 9 council meeting, as borough Manager Christine Hart showed photos from the day’s festivities.
“We had over 120 children who attended: we had crafts, and each table had 100 to 120 crats, and it was a sellout. It was a great night,” Hart said, and council President Mark Tarlecki added: “It definitely shows the spirit of community in North Wales.”
