Police said three juveniles reported the suspect pointed a firearm and threatened to shoot them during a May encounter
A Chalfont Borough teen was charged this week in connection with an alleged May robbery in which three juveniles told police they were threatened at gunpoint after one of them had a pair of sneakers taken.
According to the affidavit, the 16-year-old defendant, of the 200 block of New Jersey Avenue, was charged with felony robbery, two misdemeanor counts each of terroristic threats and simple assault, and misdemeanor theft stemming from a May 5, 2025 incident behind the CHOP Primary Care building on Manor Drive in New Britain Township.
According to detectives, the juveniles described playing in puddles behind the medical office when two males approached them. One of the juveniles’ shoes were allegedly taken, and when two of the children followed to retrieve them, the suspect allegedly pulled a gun and stated, “I’ll shoot you.”
The alleged victims fled and later reported the incident to their parents, who contacted New Britain Township Police the same evening, investigators wrote. Patrol officers and later detectives interviewed the children, who described the actor as a teenage male and said the firearm lacked an orange tip, though they believed it may have been a BB gun.
A group of unrelated juveniles later returned the stolen shoes after finding them in a tree, according to the affidavit.
Police said an investigation over the following months included tips through social media, interviews with family members, and a review of the area. Detectives interviewed the defendant in August at his residence, where he denied involvement and claimed he had been with friends elsewhere that day.
His guardian reportedly acknowledged previously discovering what she described as an airsoft gun in his room. In November, police conducted photo lineups using blind administration, during which two of the three juveniles positively identified the defendant as the suspect.
The teen is jailed at the Bucks County Youth Center on 10% of $50,000 cash bail, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is set for Jan. 15 before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage. The teen is represented by public defender Lisa Marie Douple.
All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
