Four directors sworn in as Juliane Ramić becomes president and Kunbi Rudnick becomes vice president
The North Penn School Board welcomed four newly elected directors and selected new leadership Monday night, choosing Juliane Ramić as president and Kunbi Rudnick as vice president during the district’s annual reorganization meeting.
The session opened with Director Timothy MacBain serving as temporary president. He read the certified election results confirming the terms of Christine Coyne, Ken Keiser, Koh Chiba, and Al Roesch, who, except for incumbent Roesch, were then sworn into office by Magisterial District Judge Suzan Leonard.
“We have a reading of the certificate of election before us,” MacBain said, before handing over the gavel. “Congratulations,” he told the new directors as the oath was administered.
Ramić elected president
The board then moved to elect its officers for 2026. Director Kunbi Rudnick nominated Ramić for board president. With no other nominations, the board closed the floor and voted unanimously.
“Thank you to my fellow board members,” Ramić said after taking the gavel. She gave special thanks to MacBain, calling him someone who “really relished this opportunity to be part of the civic process” as temporary president. She also welcomed the newly sworn-in members, joking that they had already mastered the hardest lesson of school board etiquette: “You have already figured out where the on button is on the microphone.”
Rudnick elected vice president
The board then opened nominations for vice president, and a director nominated Rudnick. No other names were offered, and the board again voted unanimously.
Procedural corrections lead to amended agenda
Before officer elections began, the board paused to correct a posting error with the online agenda. Ramić noted that the agenda had not been visible to the public until “approximately 7:40 last night,” falling an hour short of the 24-hour requirement. The board added a procedural item, voted twice to amend and then approve the corrected agenda, and continued with the meeting.
“With a majority of those present and voting having voted to amend the agenda,” Ramić said, “I now recommend approval of item 2B.”
Board proceeds with new term
With officers selected, and new members seated, Ramić said she looked forward to working with the reorganized board and emphasized the importance of continuing to learn together.
“The second [hardest lesson] is Robert’s Rules of Order,” she said with a laugh. “We are all messing with that tonight.”
