A Montgomery Township man free on $50,000 unsecured bail is facing more than 100 felony charges after investigators alleged he uploaded child sexual abuse materials through a messaging application and was later found in possession of additional illegal images.

William Marquis Martin, 44, of Meadow Glen Road, was charged last week by Montgomery County detectives with 100 felony counts of dissemination of child sexual abuse materials, 10 felony counts of possession of child pornography, and one felony count of criminal use of a communication device, according to court records.

CyberTip leads to investigation

Court documents state that the investigation began Dec. 22, 2024, when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a report from MediaLab/Kik regarding two videos uploaded to the Kik Messenger app by a user account under the name “kaptnoblivious,” investigators said.

The videos appeared to depict prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts, detectives said.

NCMEC and Kik provided subscriber data linked to the account, which listed an email address and IP addresses connected to AT&T and Verizon. A subpoena to Verizon traced the activity to an address on Meadow Glen Road in Montgomery Township, police said.

Detectives also linked the “kaptnoblivious” username to a Twitter (now X) account, which contained political commentary alongside nude images of an adult male, police said.

Search uncovers images

On May 15, 2025, Montgomery County detectives executed a search warrant at the home of Martin. Several electronic devices were seized, including Martin’s Apple iPhone, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said Martin admitted to previously using the Kik account under the name “kaptnoblivious,” as well as the email address connected to it. He told detectives he was the sole user of the seized iPhone, according to the complaint.

A forensic examination of the phone allegedly uncovered numerous images of child sexual abuse material involving female children with adult males. Detectives also found stored account information for the Kik username and the linked Gmail account, according to the affidavit.

The charges stem from incidents occurring between December 2024 and May 2025, authorities said.

Martin is free on $50,000 unsecured bail, set at arraignment by on-call Magisterial District Judge Todd N. Barnes. A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 16 before Magisterial District Judge Andrea Duffy. He is represented by Bensalem attorney Paul Mallis, according to court documents.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
