Gaming revenue in Pennsylvania sees a Significant Increase in July of 2025

A recent report, released by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB), revealed that the total gaming revenue for July 2025 reached $554.7 million. This is a significant 11.4% increase when compared to the figure reached at the same time last year. The reasoning for this leap comes from the dominating force of iGaming, which is increasing in popularity across the State at an exponential rate.

IGaming refers to any kind of online bets placed on games of chance, such as slots. Pennsylvania is one of the few States in the US that has fully legalized all forms of online gambling, sports betting and lottery, which brought the world of online casinos into the limelight for residents. These online platforms bring the glitz and glamor of the traditional casino setting to the players' fingertips, greatly increasing accessibility and security for every gambler.

However, there are many States across America that have made online gambling of all kinds illegal and so prevent their residents from accessing them. This being said, there is an alternative option that is rapidly gaining popularity: sweepstake casinos. These platforms work in much the same way as traditional online casinos, but with one significant exception: they don’t allow gamblers to place real money wagers on games. Instead, players can earn sweep coins by playing and performing well in a game, and can then trade those coins in for rewards and prizes with real cash value. Since the majority of these platforms also offer impressive bonuses and incentives for both new and seasoned players, it is easy to see why this list of sweepstake casinos has become so popular.

IGaming in Pennsylvania managed to generate £228.2 million in July of 2025, which is a 30.9% increase from last year. As for the company that performed the best, Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course managed to generate a total revenue of $103.4 million, with an additional impressive $87.8 million coming from iGaming. This was a commendable 37.2% increase for the company.

In second place was Valley Forge Casino Resort, which increased its overall revenue by 19.2% to reach $88.8 million. They also saw strong online engagement from gamblers, managing to generate an additional $61.2 million through this. After them, we have Rive Casino Philadelphia, which reached $57.5 million, which was a 16.6% increase, alongside a 26.6% increase in online engagement, generating $37.8 million.

The overall revenue generated from slot machines also rose across the whole of Pennsylvania, reaching $208.5 million, up by 2.1% compared to last year. It was Parx Casino that outperformed the rest in this category with $30.9 million. A comfortable increase of $300,000 when compared to the same time last year. Rivers Casino Pittsburgh also saw an increase of 2.7%, reaching $22.6 million, but Wind Creek Bethlehem was not so lucky, and its slot revenue declined by 3.8% to $23 million.

Finally, sports wagering was the only category of gambling that saw an overall decrease when taking into account the entirety of the State. It managed a total revenue of $40.6 million, which is down 0.5% when compared to last year. Despite this, some casinos, such as Valley Forge and Hollywood Casinos at the Meadows, performed well, generating $15.5 million from $14.9 million and $11.3 million from $112.3 million, respectively.
