This Tuesday, Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center invites the public to a Community Conversation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Upper Providence Township Meeting Hall
Recent headlines about alleged abuse at a local childcare facility have shaken our community. For many, these stories stir up fear, anger, and grief, and also a deep resolve to ensure that no child endures such harm again.
As someone who has spent decades walking alongside children and families in the aftermath of abuse, I feel the emotional weight of this case deeply. These are not just stories in the news, they represent real children, real families, and a ripple of pain that touches us all. It is impossible not to feel both heartbreak and urgency in the face of such harm.
True prevention is more than vigilance. It is proactive, informed engagement. Prevention means equipping parents, educators, coaches, faith leaders, and neighbors with the tools to recognize early warning signs, set clear boundaries, and create environments where abuse cannot take root. It also means having hard conversations before tragedy strikes.
This Tuesday, Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center invites you to a Community Conversation from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Upper Providence Township Meeting Hall (located at 1286 Black Rock Road, Phoenixville, PA 19460). Leading experts in child maltreatment and protection will share practical guidance on:
This conversation is one part of a broader prevention effort. Protecting children is a community responsibility, and you have a role to play. I urge you to attend the Community Conversation, sign up for a prevention workshop, and share information and resources with others. Every action we take strengthens the safety net around our children.
