Cornerstone Church of Skippack will hold an official groundbreaking ceremony on Sunday, August 17, to celebrate the start of construction on an expansion of its current facility designed to expand children, youth, educational, and worship services.
The celebration will be held on site at 1326 Stump Hall Road, Skippack, at 10 a.m.
This church expansion project is a significant milestone for both the congregation and the community. The church’s expanded facility is designed to meet the growing needs of its congregation, with a focus on expanding children’s and youth spaces while also addressing other educational needs, furthering the church’s mission to transform lives through discipleship ministries, according to a church press release.

“It will be a time to honor those who have made the church’s vision possible almost 35 years ago, as well as today, as we embark on this expansion effort to serve the generations to come,” the release stated.
The ceremony will be led by Dave Matchette, senior pastor, and include opening remarks and acknowledgments to recognize God’s provision, charter members, and other contributors to this project. The pastor will share remarks on the history and significance of the project and its impact on the church and community. Children will also participate in the groundbreaking ceremony, helping to “turn the first dirt” as a symbol of the generations to come.
