Friendly rivalry with area departments aims to boost critically low supply
Lansdale Police are rolling up their sleeves — and they want you to do the same.
The department will join forces and face off against neighboring police departments in the "Battle of the Badges" blood drive later this month.
The friendly competition, set for Wednesday, Aug. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Hatfield Township Building, 1950 School Road, will pit Lansdale Police against Hatfield, Towamencin, and Lower Salford police departments to see which one can rally the most donors.
The real goal, police said, is not just bragging rights — it is replenishing the critically low blood supply in the region. Every pint collected will go toward helping hospital patients in need.
Donors can book an appointment by calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767), visiting RedCrossBlood.org and entering “Hatfield Township,” or scanning the event QR code.
Participants are encouraged to tell staff they are donating on behalf of Lansdale Police — because while the competition may be lighthearted, the cause is serious.
“Let’s fill those donor chairs and show our community spirit,” police urged in their announcement. “Let’s do this, Lansdale!”
