The crash involved an Autoparts Warehouse vehicle and a gray Toyota sedan near the border of Hatfield Township
The driver of an Autoparts Warehouse car was trapped in the vehicle, then rescued by Fairmount and Hatfield firefighters, and eventually transported by VMSC Emergency Medical Services for treatment of injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash at the entrance to Wedgewood on Moyer Road in Lansdale Borough Thursday afternoon.
The accident occurred around 12:45 p.m. at the Wedgewood Drive intersection, near the Hatfield border, involving the aforementioned green and yellow car and a gray Toyota sedan.
The elderly male driver became trapped after the car flipped onto its driver’s side following impact. First responders cut the roof off the patient’s car to rescue him; he was conscious and alert and complained of arm pain, according to reports from the scene.
The Toyota sustained heavy front-end damage in the crash. The victim’s vehicle sustained heavy damage all around.
Moyer Road was closed at Schwab Road in Hatfield Township
Lansdale Police and Fairmount Fire Co. were assisted by Hatfield Fire Co. firefighters.
The patient’s condition is unknown at this time.
