The monthly event by Discover Lansdale takes place along Madison and West Main streets
It was flip-flops over asphalt and beach themes under borough lights as Discover Lansdale brought the shore to the streets for August’s First Friday “Shellabration.”
Residents and visitors flocked to Madison and Main streets instead of the Jersey coast for the town’s signature monthly event, now in its 14th season, and this edition pulled out all the stops.
The musical lineup kept things lively throughout the night, with Sound Wave rocking the Main Stage and DJ Chris Evans spinning the soundtrack of summer over at Railroad Plaza. Face painters Josep and Morgan, balloon artist Scott Myers, and crowd-favorite juggler Doug Stafford added a festive flair for the younger crowd.
This month’s Kids Zone was packed with beach-themed fun. With the forecast predicting a cooldown, organizers swapped out water inflatables for dry-land thrills, and no one seemed to mind the change.
Foodies had no shortage of choices, with returning vendor El Limon joined by The Little Sicilian, Big Red Bites, The Pasta Truck, The Clean Plate Club, and Surf and Turf Truck. Sweet treats were covered by Simply Acai and House of Cupcakes.
Thirsty attendees packed the beer garden, where local favorites Round Guys Brewing, Well Crafted Beer Co., von C Brewing, and Boardroom Spirits kept the taps flowing. Cardinal Hollow Winery and Shotz of Love rounded out the lineup with wine and cocktail options.
As always, First Friday offered more than just fun — the monthly nonprofit spotlight featured Laurel House and Laurel’s Loft, raising awareness for domestic violence prevention and survivor support services.
