The Philadelphia Eagles are slated to visit the White House on April 28 to celebrate their Super Bowl LIX victory. The team will reportedly meet with President Donald Trump at a 4 p.m. press conference.

With rumors that some players may sit out the planned meeting with Trump, prediction markets are offering trading on contracts related to who will and who won’t attend the April 28 meeting. With Kalshi’s “Which Philly football players will visit the White House before May?” market, customers can pick from a handful of Eagles players.

As of the morning of April 28, the Kalshi prediction market had attracted just over $1 million in trade volume, with high odds that most Eagles players will attend the White House meeting.

Betting on Eagles players to visit the White House

In 2018 after the Eagles won Super Bowl LII, Trump rescinded the team’s White House invitation after learning that only a small delegation of players would attend. Some of the team’s personnel reportedly didn’t want to go due to Trump’s public statements chastising NFL players for kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality.

This year, Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie said that the circumstances are different and that the team would visit. Still, Lurie said, the meeting was “optional.” Some Eagles players may choose not to attend due to issues they may have with the current administration.

At Kalshi, users can trade “Yes” or “No” contracts on specific players to attend and not attend.

By mid-morning of April 28, here were the leading candidates to attend the White House meeting later in the day:

Saquon Barkley (99%)

Cooper DeJean (96%)

Jake Elliott (87%)

DeVonta Smith (81%)

A.J. Brown (81 %)

Nolan Smith Jr. (80%)

Jalen Hurts (51%)

Rumored Holdouts

As you can see, Eagles quarterback and Super Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts has the longest odds to attend. Hurts’ odds fluctuated a little on the morning of April 28, rising as high as 61% before dropping back down to 51%. The night before, Hurts’ odds had sunk as low as 25%. By mid-afternoon with the meeting time approaching, Hurts’ odds plummeted as low as 3%.

Hurts’ attendance at the White House has come into question in recent days. The quarterback, known for his social justice advocacy and philanthropic support for underprivileged youth, was asked by a Time magazine reporter at the Time 100 gala on April 25 whether he would be there.

Hurts paused awkwardly for a few seconds then ultimately failed to answer, leading some to believe he’d be sitting out the April 28 meeting.

Saquon Barkley and President Trump

The Eagles’ star running back Saquon Barkley has the best odds of attending the White House meeting. That’s likely due to Barkley being photographed hanging out with Trump on April 27.

Barkley was seen golfing with Trump in New Jersey and later flying back to the White House with the President. Barkley responded to complaints of his appearances with Trump on X the next day, saying he respected the office and had also recently played golf with former President Barack Obama.

White House visit markets to remain open until meeting

It’s unclear why some of the other players featured in the Kalshi market are favored higher, as none have overtly expressed political opinions.

It could be simply that certain players who performed especially well at Super Bowl LIX would want to celebrate their achievements. Kicker Jake Elliott (one of the few Eagles who were also on the Super Bowl LII team) became the most accurate kicker in Super Bowl history at this year’s game. Meanwhile, Cooper DeJean’s pick-6 early in the game was considered a turning point.

We’ll have more answers on who will or won’t attend the meeting when the press conference takes place around 4 p.m. The Kalshi market should remain open until then, unless there are any concrete spoilers earlier in the day, like players being photographed arriving at the White House.
