The animal cruelty incident occurred the evening on April 12 in Lower Salford
Cat owners in Lower Salford Township are at attention after a cat was shot with a BB gun and later euthanized near Park Avenue.
According to Fox29, Nicole Cammarota found her cat Lilly gasping for air as it crawled up her basement steps, and then she saw the blood.
Cammarota posted on the Nextdoor social media app alerting her neighbors of the fate of her 3-year-old short-haired calico. Cammarota posted that her cat was shot the night of April 12.
Per the report, Cammarota thought Lily fell off the roof, but a veterinarian x-ray revealed injuries consistent with a pellet or bullet from a gun.
One projectile went straight through Lilly’s upper torso, neck and back, per the report. Lilly was shot twice, Cammarota wrote on Nextdoor.
Due to severity of injuries and pain, Lilly was put to sleep.
“I want to spread the awareness like if your kids play with them, let them know the consequences that could happen from it, because it could be felony charges. I would want the kid to get help. If it’s an adult, shame on them, because they should know better,” Cammarota told Fox29.
Lower Salford Township Police are investigating the incident. Call 215-256-9500 with any information on the animal cruelty.
