PECO has been notified of the issue and is working on a solution.
A gas main has been hit in Lansdale Borough, mid-day Monday, causing traffic delays in the vicinity.
According to county dispatch, a gas main was struck by workers at the scene at East Main Street between Oakland Avenue and Lakeview Drive in Lansdale. Thought the leak is outdoors, it is located in the center of the two roadways' intersection. Those at the scene report it is a three-inch main "blowing."
Dispatchers said that PECO has been notified of the leak and is taking measures at this time to alleviate the problem. Currently, traffic is forced to one lane in the area, causing delays.
Main Street and North Wales Road will be closed until the situation is under control. The public is asked to avoid the area.
