Firefighters from Colmar Fire Co., with assistance from Hatfield Vol. Fire Co., fought a fully-engulfed car fire Thursday night on Bethlehem Pike/Route 309 in Hatfield Township.
Responding units at 10:23 p.m. reported to Montgomery County dispatch that the car's entire engine compartment was on fire, which extend to the rest of the vehicle. Crews ran one line in serve to extinguish the blaze. The car was on the southbound shoulder of the expressway, in front of the Circularix facility on the 1700 block of Bethlehem Pike.
There were no injuries. Route 309 Southbound was temporarily closed. The scene was cleared at 11:24 p.m.
Route 309 serves as the dividing line between Hatfield Township (southbound) and Hilltown Township (northbound).
Editor's note: This article incorrectly stated that the initial call for the fire was reported at Dorman Products in Colmar. While there was a fire call to that location, the events were unrelated.
