2-car crash at Knapp and 202 sends 1 to hospital, partially closes roadway

A two-vehicle accident has sent one driver to an area hospital and partially closed Knapp Road between the Route 202 parkway and Route 309, preventing turns into the Target and Giant shopping center from the expressway.

A black Hyundai SUV sustained heavy front-end damage in a collision with a white Toyota SUV, which sustained heavy damage, at 6:25 p.m., according to reports from the scene.

According to Montgomery County emergency dispatch reports, witnesses reported the driver of the Hyundai ran a red light and struck the Toyota.

Route 202 Expressway is reduced to one lane heading toward Horsham Road, and both directions are open.

Montgomery Township Police were assisted at the scene by VMSC Emergency Medical Services.
