1 injured in 2-car crash at Sumneytown Pike and Church Road Wednesday night

The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m.

A two-vehicle crash at Sumneytown Pike and Church Road has sent one person to an area hospital and closed Church Road heading into Lansdale Borough Wednesday night.

Shortly before 6:30 p.m., a silver Subaru Outback and a light blue Toyota sedan collided at the intersection in Upper Gwynedd Township.

By James Short The Subaru sustained heavy driver side and front-end damage and the Toyota sustained damage to both sides of the vehicle.

Upper Gwynedd Police were assisted at the scene by VMSC Emergency Medical Services.

Northbound Sumneytown Pike is backed up, but southbound is open.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Partners Towing.
