Emergency crews were called out to Lansdale Saturday evening for a one-vehicle accident.
According to county dispatch, one vehicle had crashed, flipped over and someone was thought to be trapped inside the car. Later reports noted that the driver of the car was able to get out of the vehicle without rescue assistance and said that no other passengers were inside.
Those at the scene reported that a vehicle had collided into a telephone pole, which caused the pole to break in the area of Kenilworth Avenue and West Seventh Street in Lansdale Borough. The call for assistance was made around 5:08 p.m. on Saturday, April 5.
A dark grey Subaru four-door vehicle stuck a telephone pole, causing downed wires. Due to the dangers, rescuers have closed the roads in the vicinity. Both Kenilworth Avenue and Seventh Street should be avoided by drivers at this time.
Responding to the scene were units from VMSC Lansdale, Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale, and the Hatfield Fire Company, among other first responders.
The condition of the driver involved was not made public. More information will be provided as it is made available.
