After a highly successful benefit show and raffle last month, North Wales resident Lauren Fisher continues her spring donation campaign for Eagles Autism Foundation this Thursday.

On April 3, P.J. Whelihan’s Pub and Restaurant in Hatfield Township will be hosting a Dine and Donate event from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. With the presentation of the event flyer, 15% of each bill will be donated to Eagles Autism Foundation.

Last month’s benefit show at Panico’s Neighborhood Grill and Sports Tavern was an overwhelming success. Five bands played original songs to a completely packed house.

Under the illustrious golden ceiling of the century-old building, Lansdale’s former Little Italy showcased the power of our community and music scene at large. Merit, a band that has been a heavyweight in the area for a decade, played for the last time. The crowd was all smiles even with the bittersweet nature of the evening; however, the attendance made the sweet outweigh the sour.

Just shy of $2,500 was raised between the show and raffles made of donations from local businesses and residents. Fisher, who manages Panico’s, was ecstatic about utilizing her job for such charity.

With the event this Thursday being at P.J. Whelihan’s Pub and Restaurant, the communal nature of our area is highlighted once again. Perhaps a perfect night out this Thursday could include a meal at P.J. Whelihan’s (with the flyer shown for transparency) followed by karaoke at Panico’s.

Fisher will be behind the bar, excitedly talking about the Eagles Autism Challenge next month and as usual: the future of our area.

Spring is coming in not a moment too soon. First Fridays will be back next month. Whites Road Concert Series will be back as well.

The Punk Rock Flea Market returns to Round Guys April 26 . Live music has been happening almost every weekend there as well as at Well-Crafted.

Not a bad time to get out and do something.
