The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced that base repair continues this week and next week on Orvilla Road in Hatfield Township.
Motorists are advised of the following travel restrictions:
Thursday through Monday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Orvilla Road will be closed weekdays between Koffel Road and Route 463 (Cowpath Road). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 463 (Cowpath Road), Route 463 (West Broad Street/Forty Foot Road), and Koffel Road.
Tuesday, Oct. 1, through Thursday, Oct. 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Orvilla Road will be closed between Route 463 (Cowpath Road) and Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike), Broad Street, and Route 463 (Cowpath Road).
Speaking of Hatfield Township, the newly-paved Derstine Road has narrow driving lanes to reduce speeds and bike routes, made possible through a partnership with The Partnership TMA of Montgomery County.
Local access will be maintained. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
