If you’ve been putting off signing up — or if you need a reminder of deadlines — consider this your wake-up call to enter today:
The Chili Cook-Off, an annual feature of the First Friday Fall Celebration on Friday, Oct. 4.
The public taste-tests and votes, and the winners earn a full year’s worth of bragging rights! Businesses and individuals can enter the hottest (tasting) contest of the season by clicking here. But hurry, space is limited.
The October First Friday kicks off a weekend’s worth of Oktoberfest celebrations in town, continuing with festivities including Saturday’s birthday celebration at Well Crafted Beer, and culminating in …
The grueling Frachthaus Zer0.5K, Sunday, Oct. 6.
Yes, “The Race for The Rest Of Us” returns, with all your favorite features, and funneling at the finish into the fun-filled Discover Lansdale Oktoberfest celebration. Seem too daunting to face a half-kilometer marathon? Competitors start with a complementary beer at Round Guys Brewery, then can stop for carb-loading pretzels at the halfway mark at the Lansdale Library, and are all awarded a nifty Medal of Completion honor at the finish line. The $40 registration fee includes all the above; a limited $100 VIP ticket gets you special snacks and a ride on the luxurious motorized picnic table! Register today by clicking here.
Also included with your race registration is entry into DL’s wunderbar Oktoberfest, with refreshments, family friendly fun and games for all ages, and appropriate oom-pahing by the Philadelphia German Band. All benefits Discover Lansdale’s historic restoration efforts at the Lansdale Freight House, where the Oktoberfest takes place. (Click here to learn more about the Freight House project.)
And the Big Kahuna, Lansdale’s 73rd annual Mardi Gras Parade, welcomes Santa to the borough with marching bands and cheer squads, music, floats, dancers, firefighters and other first-responders, floats by favorite businesses, and so much more, on Saturday, Nov. 23.
All are welcomed to join us as Discover Lansdale strikes up the season, starting at Mitchell Ave. at 1 p.m., parading down the borough’s Main boulevard, and winding up with hot chocolate and apple cider at the judges’ stand at Memorial Park. Click here to register today.
