Montgomery County announced the successful conclusion of its annual Back-to-School Drive, which provided essential school supplies to 1,025 children across the community. This initiative, a collaborative effort between local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and generous residents, has made a significant impact on the lives of many families as the new school year begins.

The Back-to-School Drive, held throughout July and August, aimed to ensure that children in Montgomery County have the tools they need to succeed in the classroom. The response from the community was overwhelming, with donations pouring in from all corners of the county.

“Our community's generosity has been truly inspiring,” said Jamila H. Winder, Chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners. “Thanks to the efforts of our partners, residents, and county employees, over a thousand children are starting the school year with confidence, knowing they have the supplies they need to succeed.”

The drive provided a variety of school essentials, including backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and more. The distribution of these supplies was conducted through our Department of Health and Human Services ensuring that the resources reached children who needed them the most.

In addition to providing immediate relief to families, the Back-to-School Drive also reinforces Montgomery County's commitment to education and community support. By equipping students with the necessary supplies, the county is helping to lay the foundation for a successful academic year and a brighter future.

As Montgomery County continues to prioritize the well-being and success of its residents, initiatives like the Back-to-School Drive highlight the power of community collaboration in making a positive difference.
