Thursday night 2-vehicle accident sends one to hospital in Lower Salford

A two-vehicle accident sent one individual to an area hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the collision near Bay Pony Inn Thursday night in Lower Salford Township.

According to Montgomery County emergency dispatch, the accident involved a tan Ford sedan and a black Honda CRV on Harleysville Pike at Cross Road. Authorities said one of the drivers reported seeing smoke coming from her car outside her window.

Authorities said a 20-year-old female was bleeding from the mouth, but was conscious and alert.

A witness reported to police that someone was on the ground and appeared to be injured.

The age and gender of the injured party is unknown at this time.

Both cars sustained heavy front-end damage and airbags were deployed.

Lower Salford Township Police were assisted at the scene by Harleysville Fire Co. and Harleysville Fire Police and Skippack Ambulance. 

Police closed the intersection for about an hour to process the scene.
