Nearly a year after an arrest warrant was issued for an alleged shoplifting incident at Walmart, a Bucks County man has been arraigned on felony charges of retail theft and receiving stolen property for stealing three crossbows and pillow shams.

Harry Sellinger, 56, of the 1700 block of Newport Road, Croydon, Bristol Township, was issued a warrant by Hilltown Township Police Aug. 30, 2023 to answer for the alleged shoplifting incident on Aug. 19, 2023 at the Bethlehem Pike store, per court records.

Sellinger, who also faces charges of misdemeanor possessing an instrument of crime and criminal mischief, was arraigned Aug. 22, 2024 before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage, who set bail at 10% of $25,000 cash, of which Sellinger has yet to post and remains at Mongomery County jail.

According to charging documents, police were called to Walmart at 1515 Bethlehem Pike at 5:01 p.m. for a retail theft that occurred 20 minutes prior.

Police said loss prevention provided still photos and video evidence to them of the theft.

Sellinger, police said, was seen loading his shopping cart with three crossbows and Better Homes & Gardens pillow shams, totaling $1,180.

Then, the defendant pushes the cart to the Garden Center, where, police said, he cuts the lock to a door and stages the cart loaded with the merchandise behind some crates.

Sellinger leaves the store, enters a blue GMC SUV parked on the side of the store, and drives toward the stashed shopping cart, per the complaint. He then loads the items into the trunk and fled the area, police said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 1 at 1 p.m. before Armitage.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
