The Lansdale Area Family YMCA state-licensed day care center will be opening its doors to infants and toddlers 6 weeks and older for the first time in September.

The center, which previously cared for children ages 2 through 5, has recognized the current need for additional infant care in the area and has completed renovations to create a safe environment for infants and toddlers.

Two classrooms have been converted to fit the needs of caring for the Y’s tiniest members and have been filled with age-appropriate developmental toys, necessities such as new cribs and high chairs, and carpeted flooring comfortable for crawling toddlers, according to a North Penn YMCA press release.

“We wanted to create a space where infants and toddlers could develop and grow through focused attention. These years are crucial as they begin to explore the world around them. When toddlers are supported in developing speech, item recognition, and gross and fine motor skills, it makes a world of difference,” Lansdale YMCA Day Care Director Bella Carlo said. “We are so excited to be opening our toddler and infant rooms this fall. We look forward to caring for these young children as they learn, socialize and grow in our community.”

The other classrooms and common areas of the child care center have also been refreshed, reflecting a more modern and vibrant space for children, said the release.

“We recognized the need for a remodel of our child care center to ensure we continue to meet the evolving needs of our community. This renovation enhances the safety, comfort, and overall experience for the children in our care. Our updated facility will provide a nurturing environment that supports learning, play, and development, giving parents peace of mind and helping our youngest members thrive,” said Lansdale YMCA Branch Executive Bob Varga.

The center will be open to the public for tours on Sept. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Sept. 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. New parents who register before Sept. 30 for full-time day care will receive $100 off registration.

Lansdale YMCA child care is a state-licensed facility serving children 6 weeks to 5 years old. The center offers full-time care between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ELRC assistance is available.

The North Penn YMCA provides programs and services for children, teens, seniors, families and those with special needs in the North Penn, Indian Valley and Perkiomen Valley communities.
