By 1899, so many Hatfield Lutherans were traveling to Hilltown for services that it was suggested that they have their own services in Hatfield.

The first Hatfield Lutheran service was held in Knipe's Hall (a room above where the laundromat is at 114 E. Broad Street) on October 8, 1899. On May 12, 1904, "Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hatfield, Pa.," was organized, with 32 Charter members.

Within three weeks, a lot on W. Broad St., Hatfield Borough was purchased and on October 2nd of the same year, the cornerstone was laid for Hatfield's first Lutheran Church.

In the summer of 1905, the first services were held in the new building. The church will be celebrating its 120th Anniversary on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.
