A fire in an attached garage has first responders reporting to Shipwrighter Way in Towamencin Sunday evening

A building fire has been reported in Towamencin Township on Sunday evening, according to Montgomery County’s Computer-Aided Dispatch. First responders were requested in the vicinity of Shipwrighter Way.

According to dispatch, calls were received around 5:26 p.m. for a building fire in the 400 block of Shipwrighter Way in the township of Towamencin. Witnesses report seeing a heavy fire in the garage area, which is attached to a residential home. Early reports showed a car on fire and the garage fully enflamed.

Images provided from the scene show the attached garage is completely collapsed at this time. The fire is under control.

Towamencin Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene, as well as units from Hatfield Fire Company, and North Penn Fire Company, as well as other first-responding departments. The https://vmscems.com/ is also en route to the blaze, as well as some like Upper Salford Fire Company and others on stand-by at this time.

Many units were just returning from an earlier house fire that took place in Horsham Township along Limekiln Pike around 1:46 p.m. Sunday.

Orvilla Road is closed in the area, and traffic is stopped at both Welsh Road and Allentown Road. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
