The North Penn Area DUI Task Force will be conducting a DUI checkpoint and roving patrols for the next week from Friday to Thursday, Oct. 31.

State Routes 63, 463, 113 and 309 will be patrolled and monitored, as well as other state, county, and local roadways, Hatfield Police said in a release Thursday.

Police said the effort is to identify and remove impaired drivers from the roadway. The patrols will be conducted in areas that have been identified as locations where alcohol has been a significant factor in unsafe driving and vehicle crashes.

In addition to driving under the influence, enforcement will also include aggressive driving, unlicensed or suspended operator licenses, proof of insurance, vehicle registration, vehicle equipment, and other traffic violations.

The North Penn DUI Task Force would also like to remind those who chose to drink, not to drive and seek other available transportation options.
