"The Mets season is over, but it still feels like these guys deserve a parade," read a tweet Tuesday morning from The 7 Line, a Mets fan account with 100,000+ followers.

Well, no. They certainly do not deserve a parade. Nobody throws parades for NLDS victories. But this attitude tracks for a team that practiced celebrating a World Series victory in spring training.

Here's the full tweet:

Ok, so in context, they are not really calling for a "parade." Just some kind of get-together for Mets fans to cheer their guys one last time before the offseason. Doesn't change the fact that The 7 Line believes they deserve a parade and would like to engage in some parade-adjacent activities.

Other Mets fans recognized instantly how this would play:

Nah, too late.

Ya think?

The 7 Line has gone into damage control mode, frantically retweeting explanations that - while the Mets deserve a parade - this celebration should not technically be deemed a parade.

Ah, the good old LOLmets and their LOL fan base. Gifts that keep on giving.
