Jaguars-Eagles Flexed out of Sunday Night Football in Week 9

Week 9's Jacksonville Jaguars-Eagles game at Lincoln Financial Field will no longer be on Sunday Night Football.

The NFL announced Monday that the Jaguars-Eagles game has been flexed out of Sunday Night Football, in favor of Indianapolis Colts vs. Minnesota Vikings. The Eagles will instead play at 4:05 ET on CBS.

This is largely an indictment on the Jaguars — who despite winning Sunday morning 32-16 over the lowly New England Patriots in London — are still only 2-5. Jacksonville obviously isn't a legacy franchise, so the only way they are going to be in primetime is if they are one of the best teams in the sport. Obviously, Doug Pederson's squad doesn't fit that bill. 

Additionally, while the Eagles are a team who will draw a lot of eyeballs and are 4-2, none of their wins this season have been particularly well-played games. This is a team that's over-reliant on A.J. Brown and Saquon Barkley providing explosive plays, and hasn't demonstrated the ability to do a ton offensively when one of those two things isn't happening. 

Frankly, a 4:05 start time might even be overstating the quality of this matchup.
