Former NPHS Special Education English teacher passes away at 71

A retired North Penn School District special education English teacher, who spent more than 30 years educating students, has passed away at age 71.

Valerie Sinacore died Tuesday at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington Township. She was married to Gary Sinacore for 40 years.

According to her obituary, Sinacore, or Val, as she was known by family and friends, also served as theater advisor for the Green Room Club at the high school. She was involved in many clubs and organizations, including the AAUW Book Club, a French Club and the Letitia Penn Doll Club.

Val is survived by her daughter, Michele Sinacore (Luca Meacci), grandchildren Leonardo Meacci and Josephine Meacci, and many cousins and friends.

A viewing is set for Thursday, Oct. 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Upper Gwynedd, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral mass. Internment is at Greenlawn Cemetery.
