Car into traffic light at Allentown and Broad backing up rush hour traffic Wednesday afternoon

A single-vehicle crash into a traffic light post has disrupted traffic around Allentown Road and Broad Street in Upper Gwynedd Township Wednesday afternoon.

According to reports from the scene, at 3:09 p.m., a silver sedan crashed into the pole, sustaining moderate front-end damage. 

Lansdale Police, Upper Gwynedd Police and VMSC Emergency Medical Services are on scene. 

Traffic is backed up in all directions.

Commuters traveling Broad Street toward Allentown Road cannot cross Allentown and are forced to turn right or left onto Allentown Road. 

Commuters on Broad Street approaching Lansdale Borough can cross Allentown Road, albeit one lane is open in either direction.
