Police Investigating fatal pedestrian struck incident in Hatfield

Police are investigating an incident Sunday morning involving a pedestrian struck in Hatfield Township, as a body remains in the roadway.

Sources told North Penn Now that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle sometime this morning in the area of Broad Street. A section of North Broad Street in Hatfield is closed still at this hour, as an alert around 8 a.m. was issued, stating the closure was due to a crash investigation.

Witnesses at the scene have confirmed that a body is in the roadway and is surrounded by crime scene evidence markers.  

According to the Hatfield Police Department’s Crimewatch, North Broad Street between Lynwood Drive and Medical Campus Drive were closed at 8:01 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13. The only description provided by police for the closure was that a “crash investigation” is ongoing in the vicinity.

An emergency dispatch call went out at 6:58 a.m. this morning requesting fire police at the scene. Colmar Fire Company and Fairmount Fire Company of Lansdale responded to the call, adding fire police assistance at the location.
