Man injured Wednesday night after driving off curve in roadway into utility pole

Franconia Township Police said a 68-year-old Harleysville man was injured after failing to negotiate a curve and crashing into a utility pole Wednesday night. 

The single-vehicle accident remains under investigation as of Friday.

The driver suffered a head and leg injury and was taken by VMSC Emergency Medical Services to Grand View Hospital for treatment, police said.

On Wednesday at 8:46 p.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of Forman Road, off Schoolhouse Road, for a report of a one-vehicle crash into a utility pole. Police said the man was driving a 2009 Honda Accord and went off the roadway in a curve on the 600 block of Forman Road. 

 The road was reopened at 9:54 p.m., police said.

Franconia Police were asssited by Lower Salford Township Police, Perseverance Fire Co., Perseerance Fire Police and VMSC.
