Car crashes into, breaks utility pole on Allentown Road Wednesday morning, driver injured

One person was transported via VMSC Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital for treatment of reported chest pain after crashing their Honda into a telephone pole on Allentown Road in Franconia Township Wednesday morning, snapping the pole in half.

The accident occurred at 10:44 a.m. in front of 192 Allentown Road near Banbury Drive, between Lower and Souder roads. The gray Honda sedan sustained severe front-end damage and was towed from the scene.

Montgomery County emergency radio traffic reported wires are hanging above the roadway and PPL is en route.

Traffic on Allentown Road has been reduced to one lane for both directions of travel.

Perseverance Fire Co. is on scene, along with Franconia Police.
