Jefferson Abington Hospital physicians, residents and nurses took part in a medical mission trip to Honduras. The group worked in collaboration with local medical teams to provide obstetrics, gynecology, pediatric, surgical and primary care services to a wide range of patients.

The team traveled to remote villages, rural communities and local clinics across Honduras and provided care to more than 1,000 patients during the span of one week. Staff performed more than 100 surgeries and more than 50 ultrasounds. In addition, the team hosted an educational program on neonatal resuscitation at a community birthing center, as well as training at a local maternity clinic.
