Two of Upper Providence Township's finest ran for a good cause on Saturday that supports county law enforcement, military and emergency personnel.

On Saturday, Upper Providence Township Department of Fire and Emergency Services Firefighter Jason Adams and UPT Police Department Lt. Ryan Sheehan ran the Montgomery County Heroes Festival 5K in support of the Montgomery County Hero Fund at Lower Providence Fire Department Fairgrounds, according to its Facebook page.

The Montgomery County Hero Fund is a 501(c3) nonprofit organization that provides immediate and ongoing relief and services to any law enforcement officer, military personnel, firefighters, paramedics and/or other first responders or their loved ones because of tragedy in service.

It was founded by Sharon and Sean E. Cullen in response to the murder of Officer Brad Fox of the Plymouth Township Police Department and United States Marine Corps (Ret.), according to its website.
